Title: Capacity Scaling in Wireless Networks with Heterogeneous Node Locations

Capacity scaling in wireless networks under homogeneous node placement has been widely studied over the last decade. In general networks, however, the node locations can be highly non-uniform. This talk will discuss the impact of such location heterogeneity on the scaling of network capacity. The effect of the node locations on achievable rates and on scaling-optimal communication schemes turns out to be quite subtle and depends on various network parameters such as the propagation model and the deployment area.

This talk is based on joint work with Piyush Gupta, Sudeep Kamath, Devavrat Shah, and David Tse.
